Challenge

The Challenge

Pipestone Lodge is a fly-in fishing destination with decades of history and a loyal guest base — but their online presence didn't reflect the caliber of the experience. The existing site was outdated, slow, and difficult for potential guests to navigate or book from.

They needed a brand identity that felt rooted in the wilderness but distinctly modern, and a website that could convert first-time visitors into confident inquiries, especially those searching for Ontario fishing lodges from the U.S. and Canada.

Approach

Strategy & Build

We started with the brand. A new logo was designed to capture the character of the lodge — rugged but refined, with a mark that works across digital and physical touchpoints from signage to embroidered hats.

The website was built from scratch with Next.js, with attention to performance, search visibility, and mobile browsing. The page structure focuses on the lake, cabins, fishing, rates, and practical trip details visitors need before they reach out.

Content strategy focused on the key search corridors — Northwestern Ontario fishing, fly-in lodges, walleye and muskie destinations — making sure the site ranks where it matters most.

Process

The work moved from positioning to identity, content, and implementation.

Clarify the trip

Make the location, lodging, fishing, rates, and travel logistics easier for first-time guests to understand.

Refresh the brand

Keep the wilderness character of the lodge while creating a cleaner identity system for digital and physical touchpoints.

Structure the content

Organize the site around high-intent pages for fly-in fishing, species, accommodations, rates, and trip planning.

Build for speed

Use a modern Next.js build, optimized images, and mobile-friendly layouts so the experience feels immediate.

Decisions

What changed beyond the visuals.

Make the location tangible

The site leans into lake imagery, regional language, and trip logistics so visitors can picture the experience before they inquire.

Build trust quickly

Clear navigation, direct calls to action, rates, cabins, species pages, and contact paths reduce the uncertainty that slows down bookings.

Respect the mobile visitor

The page structure, menu, buttons, and image crops were tuned for people researching trips from a phone instead of only a desktop monitor.
